Show me the proof of a happy marriage
a wise saying from a lame character from a lame show: Marriage certificate can only proof that you have a partner, but it cannot proof that you will be happy forever. Are you marrying the right person?
In another show, an unmarried couple have been living together for many years. one day, they quarrelled and the guy moves out. later, while the lady was cleaning the house, she found his insurance policy and the beneficiary is herself, should he die.
Now, she earns more than him and is more independent than him, hence even if he is to die, she is more than capable of taking care of herself. They have no official name by marriage but he has still gone ahead to made plans to provide for her should he no longer be around.
Somewhere else, a very famous semi-retired actress took on extra roles to pay for the medical bills of her long time BF, who has cancer.
we are all looking for someone to walk down life with us for the rest of our time here, but is marriage the only way to do this? even without a marriage certificate, those in love will continue to walk together for the rest of their lifes.
Or perhaps marriage is for the weak and frightened, so that they need a legally binding contract to help them secure the person to walk down life with them.
When my father passed away, the only thing that the marriage certificate is useful for is to proof that my mother is the legal wife and has the legal rights to his assets. Marriage certificate can only proof that you have a partner, but will it proof that you will be happy forever?
